Check the fee schedule for Form I-821D and Form I-765 on the day you file. USCIS will not accept a request without the proper fee.
No fee waivers, only narrow exemptions
USCIS says there are no fee waivers for DACA requests and the work permits filed with them. It offers very limited fee exemptions, and the exemption must be requested and approved before you file without a fee. You send a letter and evidence showing one of these:
- You can’t care for yourself because of a serious, chronic disability, and your income is below 150 percent of the U.S. poverty level
- In the past 12 months you built up $10,000 or more in debt from unreimbursed medical expenses for yourself or an immediate family member, and your income is below 150 percent of the poverty level
- You are under 18, your income is below 150 percent of the poverty level, and you are homeless, in foster care, or otherwise lack parental or family support
