“Approval Case Decision Rendered”: what it means
An officer has decided your case in your favor and recorded it. The notice and any card follow.
What this status means
A decision has been made and entered into the USCIS systems. USCIS says that on approval the officer updates all relevant electronic systems to reflect it.
It is an internal bookkeeping step rather than a message about post. It often appears before the approval notice is printed, which is why the status can change while nothing has reached you yet.
Seeing it is good news. It is not the same as holding the approval notice or the card.
What usually happens next
- The case usually moves on to a message about the approval notice being sent, and for card-based benefits to "New Card Is Being Produced".
- The status can sit here for a while. That gap is the queue between the decision and the printing, not a sign anything is wrong.
What to do now
- Wait for the written notice before acting on the approval. The notice, not the status message, is the record.
- Make sure USCIS has your current address so the notice and card reach you.
- Check every detail on the notice and card when they arrive, and tell USCIS promptly about any error.
