“Interview Was Completed And My Case Must Be Reviewed”: what it means
The interview is over and the officer did not decide in the room. The file goes on for review.

What this status means
The officer finished the interview without issuing a decision at the desk. The case now sits with USCIS while the evidence, and anything the interview raised, is reviewed.
It is a neutral message. It appears on cases that are later approved and on cases that are not, so by itself it does not point either way.
What it means for your form
- I-485 (green card)
- An officer can approve a green card case at the interview when it is approvable then. When that does not happen, USCIS sends a written decision notice later, sometimes after a request for evidence.
- N-400 (citizenship)
- The officer must give you a notice of results, Form N-652, at the end of the interview. It says whether the application was approved, continued (for example, for more documents or a retest) or denied. USCIS has 120 days from the interview to issue a decision.
What usually happens next
- USCIS may approve the case, ask for more evidence, or mail a decision. Each of those changes the status.
- Cases can rest on this message for a while. A long silence here is common and is not itself a sign that something is wrong.

For citizenship, USCIS has 120 days from the date of the interview to issue a decision. For a green card, USCIS does not set a public time; compare your case with the processing time for your form and field office.
What does “continued” on my N-652 mean?
That the officer did not decide yet. USCIS continues an application when it needs more evidence or documents from you, or when you did not pass the English or civics test the first time.
