“New Card Is Being Produced”: what it means
Your approved card is being printed. It is mailed once production finishes.
What this status means
After approval, USCIS sends the card to be printed. This applies to green cards, work permits (EADs) and other card-based documents.
What usually happens next
- The status changes to "Card Was Mailed To Me", often with a USPS tracking number.
What to do now
- Make sure USCIS has your current mailing address. Cards are not forwarded reliably.
- Sign up for USPS Informed Delivery so you can see the envelope before it arrives.
