“Notice Was Returned To USCIS As Undeliverable”: what it means
Something USCIS mailed came back. Until it has a working address, nothing else it sends will arrive.

What this status means
A notice, decision or card that USCIS posted was returned by the postal service. The usual causes are an address USCIS was never given, a name that is not on the mailbox, or a move reported only to the post office.
A forwarding order with the Postal Service does not help here: USPS does not forward mail from USCIS, and changing your address with USPS does not change it with USCIS.
What usually happens next
- For a card, USCIS says it tries to resend it. It keeps returned cards for 60 business days (12 weeks), checking its systems for a newer address, before destroying them.
- For a denial, USCIS verifies the address and files the returned notice as proof it was served, so the deadlines in it are not paused because it came back.

What if the returned notice was a decision?
Act quickly. For a denial returned as undeliverable, USCIS verifies the address and files the notice as evidence it was served, so any appeal or motion deadline runs from the date it was mailed, not from when you learn about it.
